2023 Summer Reading Programs
Let’s read! Let’s get rewarded for reading! The summer slide is a real thing and instead of going backwards in reading let’s move forward.
There are a ton of summer reading national programs along with local programs right here in the community!
Local:
255 Main Street, Southington
Two ways this program can be completed. A child can either complete the paper log or online log. Both in person and online start June 12th!
If in person to receive paper log child will receive a FREE BOOK!
How does it work? The program officially starts June 19th. Mark every that you read 20 minuets in the log. Every five days of reading will receive 1 raffle ticket for the Grand Prize drawing! Same thing happens if child does the online reading program on BeanStack.

Summer reading program for Babies, Preschool and K-12 Students. Raffle prizes!
How does it work? Each day that a child checks out at least one item from the library, the child will earn ONE raffle ticket. If a child attends a library event, TWO raffle tickets earned. NO TRACKING AT ALL.

5 High Street, Bristol
Program runs in-person and online. Starts Monday June 19th and ends August 11th. There will be no raffles this summer. There will be a library store!
How does it work? Track child’s reading on a paper calendar, 20 minutes or more a day! Child get’s “money” to spend in the store.

The program will run June 19- August 4, with weekly Summer Reading BINGO sheets for kids (entering K-5) and teens (entering 6th-12th). Library will also have an Early Literacy Summer Reading program (birth- PreK).

Fill out the reading log and bring to Chuck E Cheese to earn 10 free play points!
Barnes and Noble
Read 8 books this summer and fill out favorite part of each book. Fill out the log and bring back to Barnes and Noble and choose a free book from the list!
