2024 Summer Reading Programs
Let’s read! Let’s get rewarded for reading! The summer slide is a real thing and instead of going backwards in reading let’s move forward.
There are a ton of summer reading national programs along with local programs right here in the community!
Local:
255 Main Street, Southington
Two ways this program can be completed. A child can either complete the paper log or online log. Both in person and online start June 10th!
How does it work? The program officially starts June 17th.

56 E Main Street, Plainville
Parents, children, and teens can pick up a log book starting Friday, June 21st.
How does it work? Participants can earn a chance to spin the wheel of prizes: For every 7 days a participant reads and brings their log to the library. Every Friday from June 21st - August 16, earn a bonus wheel spin if you check out an item. Limit: Only one spin per Friday.

5 High Street, Bristol
Program runs in-person and online. Starts Monday June 17th and ends August 9th. There will be no raffles this summer. There will be a library store!
How does it work? Track child’s reading on a paper calendar, 20 minutes or more a day! Child get’s “money” to spend in the store.

Read 8 books this summer and fill out favorite part of each book. Fill out the log and bring back to Barnes and Noble and choose a free book from the list!
